About Michelle Wiebe

I am a visual artist located in Airdrie, Alberta Canada. My focus is on acrylic on canvas paintings, some of which have a distinctive thick combed impasto texture layered with soft washes of paint. The resulting works are jewel like in colour and full of rich textured depth.

I have spent the past few years painting almost daily and building my portfolio. I have tried to explore as many subjects and formats as possible. From tiny 2.5”x3.5” Artist trading cards to large scale multi canvas projects I have attained new skills and appreciation of painting. During this time I have dedicated myself to broadening my technical skills, regular viewing of my peers artwork and gaining as many experiences as possible.

It is also very important to me to be a contributing member of my arts community. I feel it is key to help bring the skills and talents of fellow artists to the public. I contribute to this in a variety of ways. I volunteer regularily teaching art classes, assisting teachers with student art projects and helping where my skills allow.
